Our Human
Sam Sederberg- Owner/Instructor
Hi! I’m Sam, I come from a long line of crazy horse ladies and proudly wear the title today. I started HH Equine and Cattle to create a space where my passion for the equine and ranching world could be shared with anyone. I’ve spent over a decade in the horse world including; a few years attending TVCC in Eastern Oregon studying Ranch Management and Equine Business, working as a large animal veterinary technician, several years training performance horses in Idaho, raising bucking stock, producing rodeos, managing cattle in Nevada, and now raising and training horses in California. I was raised in Humboldt County and after my years of traveling, training, and learning I decided it was time to return to my family here in Humboldt.
My goal with HH Equine and Cattle is to build a place that everyone can feel welcome, safe, and valued while navigating the wild world that is horses. You can expect open and honest communication from myself and my team. As well as a mutual understanding that we are all human and often need grace while we’re learning.
My actual horsemanship practices are a combination of experiences and techniques that have worked for me. I have been very fortunate to work with some amazing horsemen all over the western US and have taken bits and pieces from each of them to use in my own style. I focus on riding with the horse through natural and traditional practices to accomplish a common goal or job. No method or system is perfect and won’t work for every horse or rider, however if my program isn’t a fit for you I will strive to help you find one that does! I wan’t everyone who interacts with me, my herd, and my people to feel supported.
When I’m not working I enjoy leather work and hunting with my partner. You can also find me as an Equine Specialist at Wild Souls Ranch and out and about in the community with whatever project has caught my eye. I adore our local area and spend as much time as I can exploring the beaches and redwoods. Besides the herd I also have a small pack of cow dogs and a pile of barn cats to snuggle and love on.
I am so so fortunate to experience and build my life around the incredible world that is horses and ranching. Whatever your goals or dreams for your own life with horses may be, I would love to help you accomplish them.
